Photographic non-invasive sampling…

Remote cameras provide an opportunity to peek into the lives of animals, to observe which animals are where and to monitor their comings and goings. I have used cameras in a number of different ways:

  • To monitor behavioural responses to human disturbance

  • To observe patterns in fence crossing with respect to wildlife friendly fences

  • To model the abundance and distribution of wildlife in the Cooking Lake - Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area

  • Semi-automated program to define unique events

This work is being done in collaboration with:

  • Alberta Parks

  • Jenny Foca

  • Mark Boyce

  • Micheal Janzen
